Cabin Lights System

This is the perfect starter kit for people with small loads and people who operate primarily in the spring/summer/fall months. This system will generate enough power to run a few lights, charge cell phones, laptops, DC water pump, etc. We call this "lights and music" service.

These kits come pre-assembled for ease of installation at your location. Simply mount the solar panel in a sunny, south-facing location (roof, wall, or ground mounting hardware standard; pole mount is available as an option). Mount the pre-wired electrical panel on the wall, connect it to the batteries and solar panels, and your installation is complete.

Wire and mounting bracket for roof or ground. Charge controller with battery capacity monitor, expandable to three 80 Watt panels total. Six-circuit DC fuse panel to allow interconnection of other DC loads (such as a water pump). Pre-assembled with all wires and connectors. Batteries come fully charged. Installation will require approximately 1 day depending on your site and your electrical experience.

Cottage Systems

This system has been engineered for the needs of weekend users. Specifically, this means a larger battery bank and a smaller solar array. After a weekend of heavy use, the system then has most of the following week to charge up again.

The next weekend when you return to your cottage, the batteries will be charged up and ready to use. Cottager systems will provide power for lights, music, appliances, power tools, etc.

Kits are pre-assembled for easy self-installation, or we can arrange for a local installer to do the installation. Self-installation can usually be completed in 2-3 days, depending on the specifics of your site and your experience. Packaged systems are built to order and can easily be customized to your requirements.

This system comes with enough power to easily power lights, music, a refrigerator and power tools through the weekend. The batteries are designed to fit into a sealed and ventilated battery box to protect the rest of your equipment from vapours that are produced while the batteries are charging.

The solar array in this system is the most easily expandable part of the system! More solar modules can be easily added to the system and the recharge rate of your system will be reduced. These can be added later, which allows you to work with the system for a while before deciding if your lifestyle requires more solar panels.
Note: This system comes standard with 8m of cable to connect your solar array to the power panel.

Full-Time Systems

Designed for those that will be living off grid full time, this system provides you with the charging and storage that a typical house off grid will require.

The Outback inverters produce pure sine wave power, as good or better then the power that you would receive from the utility company. On top of good quality of power you can expect reliability from your power system that is better than the utility grid!

With power output warrantied for 25 years these solar modules are an investment you can depend on to produce for a long, long time.

The batteries included in this system are Global-Yuasa 2 Volt cells. These batteries are tubular cells; this innovative design extends the life of batteries by reducing sulphation (the build up of sulphur crystals on the battery plates). Consequently, these batteries often last for 15-20 years. Batteries are the core of a renewable energy system and the Global Yuasa batteries will give your system the support the rest of the equipment needs to perform its best.

Grid Intertie Systems

A grid connected solar system is a great way to do your part for the environment, generating power on your roof will make you far more conscious of the power you are using, which can only help remind you to turn off that extra light. Not to mention that producing your own power will reduce your electricity bill! In addition this system will allow you to have backup power available when power outages occur.

The Outback Grid Intertie Series inverters are similar to their off grid cousins with the ability to act as a battery charger, automatic transfer switch and DC/AC inverter. This makes these units complete power systems capable of providing power to your house when the utility fails. The GVFX3648 is used in this system and is a 3600 watt inverter operating on 48 Volts (nominal). The inverter comes prewired on a steel backplate with the AC and DC disconnect boxes. These systems are fairly new in Canada and you will have to get in touch with your local utility to find out if they will allow you to interconnect and what they would like to see in the way of protection and approvals
