Solar energy is collected by the Solar Collectors and transferred to a storage tank (the customer's existing or new water heater or a pre-heat tank). The energy is available to provide hot water for potable water use for washing, cooking and radiant & space heating. The solar water heating appliance has been carefully engineered to provide an affordable, cost-competitive, reliable and environmentally friendly water heating service. The EnerWorks solar water heating appliances have been developed around the low-flow, natural convection design concept. Advantages to this design include increased reliability and a lower price from reduced material costs and simplified design. The low-flow design also provides increased performance through enhanced energy capture and better stratification in the solar storage tank. The solar water heating appliance consists of 1, 2, 3 or 4 solar collector panels (depending on the heating load), flexible fluid transfer lines, Energy Pack (heat transfer module), and controller. The Energy Pack is designed to fit on any new or existing electric water heater storage tank. Flexible fluid transfer lines connect the solar panels and Energy Pack, thus reducing the installation time. The heat exchanger is a stainless steel, brazed plate design, manufactured to ISO 9000 standards, developed specifically for potable water systems. Food-grade glycol is used for high performance heat transfer and full season freeze protection EnerWorks' solar collectors use a unique heat disbursing design to eliminate any concerns of overcharging during hot days. |
